Purchasing a Kitten from Village:

About Village Kittens

We are a closed cattery, meaning we do not use outside stud service or co-own any of our studs or queens. All of our studs and queens have recently tested negative for FIV and FeLV. All of our cats/kittens are kept strictly indoors. Our kittens are raised in our home and are well socialized and litterbox trained before leaving us. They are sold with a written health guarantee. To view the health guarantee, please click on the Pet/Breeder Agreement link below. Each kitten receives one or two sets of three-way (FVRCP) vaccinations and is dewormed several times before leaving us. Since we are a TICA (The International Cat Association) registered cattery, each kitten is sold with a TICA registration blue slip.

Waiting List

It is free to get placed on our waiting list. This is the information we will need from you: Your name, phone number, email address, and what you are looking for (male or female, pet quality or breeder quality, etc.). You can email us or call us with this information to get placed on the list. Please keep in mind that all kittens are first come, first serve. When kittens become available, the first person on the waiting list will have first choice, the second person on the list will have second choice, and so on. When kittens are available and we come to your name on the waiting list, you will have the option to choose from the available kittens, wait for another litter, or you can ask to be removed from the list.

Pricing

Our kittens are individually evaluated and priced accordingly. Kittens that best fit the Bengal breed standard are considered breeder quality. They are sold to catteries for breeding. Breeder quality kittens typically range in price from $1,500 to $3,000. Some kittens have faults, such as excessive rib barring (tiger stripes) instead of spotting or a kink in the tail, which exclude them from having a place in a breeding program. These faults are completely aesthetic and do not pose any health risks. These kittens are sold as pets and must be spayed or neutered before the age of five months. Pet quality kittens usually range in price from $800 to $1,500. Kittens can also be born a color that is not recognized in the breed standard, such as melanistic (all black) or blue, or are born with a marbled pattern (they are not spotted and instead have swirls of color on their bodies). These pet quality kittens tend to be less expensive and are generally priced between $600 and $800. There are a lot of expenses involved in raising quality kittens, more than most people realize. High quality Bengals are not inexpensive. Generally, you get what you pay for. It is true that you can sometimes find Bengal kittens priced very low, but in most cases, these kittens will not have the vivid markings and extreme contrast like the high quality Bengals seen at cat shows or in cat magazines. In addition, high quality Bengal breeders spend a lot of money to ensure that their cats and kittens are healthy and free of both congenital and infectious disease.
